Someone asked for pictures so I figure I wouldnt clog the specific tech forums.

Heres my 87 stepside. 4in suspension, diy4x shackle flip, 36tsl radials.

Plans are custom tube rear fenders, sliders, bumper, olive drab paint, d44 front axle, 12in travel shocks front and rear.

I cut my fenders too :D

Dig the flat black.

Just out of curiousity why the 44 swap?

Matching gears (The main reason), and my 10 bolts bearings are beat. Plus I feel cool having a dana axle :D

PS: After lowering the truck I think the axles definatly need to go 1" forward up front and 1" back in the rear.

Ah, gotcha.

Zero rates will move the axles. Just make sure your driveshafts are long enough.

Hehe thats ironic because the "stepside" style is going. I'm doing away with the rounded edges, keeping the center section of the bed and building square tube fenders.

Lemme whip up some paint junk tomorrow to give ya an idea.

I took it out to a local spot tonight to have a fire and flexed it out steering in some holes. The only spot thats rubbing is in the rear where I left the 1/4in of outer fender on so thats going bye bye tomorrow. Between that and the zero rates I'll be perfectly clear to stuff tires.

Theres one thing I've learned after taking my swaybar off and thats that if 52's are even softer than 47 4in lift springs then they are no way daily driver compatible. I'm glad I didnt jump the gun on putting them in.
