Well I have been a member here for some time... and "borrowed" and well stole... some ideas from you guys. This forum is a wealth of information and I am glad to be a part of it...

Well here is my ride....
started out life as a junk yard find I pulled out for $500... no motor, no trans, and mismatched axles....

Shortly after I built a mild 350 (junk yard find) you know... Vortec heads, mild tow cam, mallory ignition.... that kind of stufff....

At that time it was SM465/NP208 junk 10 bolts front and rear.....

Since I have found a "donor" truck a 1976 K20 with a ff 14 bolt dana 44 with a SM465 NP205...... That swap just about killed me.... see I swaped the axles out of the parts truck into the K5... then the K5 axles into the parts truck.... then SM465/NP205 from "donor" to K5... then SM465/NP208 back to "donor".... My plan is to resell the "donor" truck for what I have in it ($900 running driving truck :wink1:)....

So that is pretty much her... nothing special... it will pull like a dang champ..... WAY LOW GEARED.... (you know it is sad I still have not pulled the inspection cover on the axles to check the gears and fluid in the front and rear end :o)

The future....... AC and disc brake the 14 bolt (which I already have the brackets)..... What do ya think....

So do you like the black Steele or the new polished looks?

Also finally got the time to change the fluid in my front and rear end... to my surprise... 4.56 gears with a Gov lock in the 14 bolt tater plow!!! :eek1:

sweet! I like how it looks with the new wheels. Bad looking K5 my friend, real clean

That is really nice! I have to say i like the new wheels better although the steel ones did give it a more "rugged" look.

definetly like the new wheels better, though it did look nice w/ the steelies. You want to add AC? sheesh, i'm gettin rid of mine. Just run it with the top off, there is your AC.

Thanks for the posts guys!!!

crazyorigin, upstate NY is probably not quite as humid as upstate SC..... we got some helicopter size Miskitos around here..... And like some one else said here... what is done? gotta have something to mess with.....
