I was driving home from work and my 87 k5 just shut off. Thier was no shaking or shuttering. I have replaced the fuel filter and ignition module. Thier is no fuel spraying from the injectors while cranking. If I pour gas into the tbi it will fire then die as soon as the gas is burned up. I have no idea why it did this. Thank you for the help.

Post Script. I replaced the fuel pump a few months ago.

Sounds like a fuel problem.

Can you hear the pump come on when you turn the key on? If not, I'd check for power back there.

Disconnect the fuel line at the throttle body and check to see if fuel is making it to the throttle body.

Check your ECM fuses in fuse box. I had the same problem and blew the ECM-B fuse dont know why but it happened. Changed fuse and it ran, but come to find out i needed a new ECM and all is well.

Yep check all fuses. Its a weird thing and has happened to me in the middle of a mud hole before. Blow the fuse and you get no gas. Replace it, start her up and pull the fuse and it runs. Never made sense to me. If fuel gets to the tbi then the regulator is my first guess.

Check the distributor. Sounds weird but yes. There are two pigtail connectors on the coil. If they have power, the distributor is dead. Replace it and all should be good.
