So I picked up a 1987 k5 for 1k back in november. So far i've been working on it slowly. Getting it road worthy etc. When I bought it it failed smog due to the thermostat being stuck open so it was never going into a closed loop. The inside was gutted and the back was lined with dynomat. It also came in 4 magnificent colors...Brown, white, black and grey..Eventually it will be painted white professionally but for now it's rattle canned white.

So far i've gotten the motor running right. Sadly it's a 305 but until it goes I can't justify swapping in a larger motor. Compression in all cylinders was good and even across the board. Tune up thermostat etc etc.

Carpeted the front. Hurculined the back.

Replaced the tires. Currently running 33x12.5x15

Redid the exhaust. (custom 3" with Flowmaster 44) It's a little droney but i'm really happy with the sound.

Future plans:
Paint
4-6" lift (I go back and forth on how tall I want it to be)
Custom gauge panels.
Headliner

Basically I want to return it to it's former glory..but be able to take it off roading occasionally and use it to transport surfboards to the beach and back.
