so i found this sight because i am looking for advice on a 12 inch lift i have a 4 in now with 3 inch body i also have a built 350 in it but am in the proccess of building a 454 any ideas

Regular garage section. What size tire, gearing, transmission, transfer case etc..? What do you want to do with it? What is your ultimate goal?

thanks man my goal is really just mudding and offroad i am going 454 with a th400 trans i was thinking like 42 or 44 in tires not sure on gearing yet

this has been talked about before, if you want to clear 44s without trimming you will need a 12" lift plus a 3" body lift.

That is the conventional way of doing it. This site has any number of rigs that are not conventional.

Whats your budget? Willing to trim the fenders?

As far as gears 5.38 is the only choice I would have for 44s.


Your current lift is it blocks in the rear?

You could fit 44s right now but it would take some serious trimming. I ran 44s for a while and I have about a 3" lift
