Well, I finished up the outside and it's completely done. I've been hammering away hard on the interior the last few days and it's 80% done. The backseat is at the upholstery shop currently and I have to finish my stereo system. Adapting my Mercedes seats to the K5 floor pan took a while, but I am super happy having powered, black leather buckets that "hug" me really well.

Today was the maiden voyage for this truck in 6 years. We went into town, got some gas, and a car wash.:thumb:

Here's a quick pic or two from where I started from 6 months ago.

Let me know what you think so far!:thumb:

deffinetly a beautiful truck man:woot::woot: nice work. that green was a great color as said by others, but i believe you chose well:bow:

Looks seski! :thumb: Good color. Did you paint the topper too or just leave it white?
It's still white, with even some moss growing on the roof. Honestly, I can't see myself putting the top back on, can't beat being topless on a nice day. I also plan on ordering one of the old school Skyler tops as soon as they hit the market this spring. I think that's a better route anyway, I would be heating and air conditioning a much smaller cabin area.

http://www.skylercorp.com/ Those tops are where it's at, but they went out of business years ago. Now, they are supposed to be up and running again and building the same tops again, available for purchase spring of 2011.

I'm using a Grant steering wheel, picked it up yesterday from my local Kragens. If you want what model, I can.

The seats are just...:pimp:. They are black leather, powered buckets that came out of a 2000's C class Mercedes.

So Sick! Can you show picks of how you mounted the seats? Did you just weld the rails to the floorboard?

Looks great man! That bottom pic it looks like the rear boggers are comp cut cause only the big lugs are dirty. I was like whoa!:waytogo:

I say build a custom console, this way you could do it the way you want and have no issues with it. Thats what I did. But the truck looks great, I LOVE the color and the look

I'd say that or a Tuffy console. Thinkin' about getting one with taxes. I'd love to build my own but right now just no way of fabricating one. :(

Goddamm that looks good!! Love that color!

Get a Tuffy if no top!

Again, Damm!!!!!

That is a sweet K5. Paintjob looks perfect too. Well done man. I can't wait to be done mine.

I need a center console, any ideas?

I would suggest a black tuffy security console with the stereo slot option. Its a no-brainer IMO with these old trucks and especially if you're going to run a soft top. Keep your valuables out of harms way (ie., stereo deck, ipod, phone, cd's, removable steering wheel, kill switch, etc, etc.)

Only reason I haven't got one yet is because I'm considering going with a split bench seat with heated leather hopefully.
