There is a club in Mt. Home Idaho that puts on an event they call Idaho tough truck challenge. Kind of after 4 wheelers top truck but way smaller. This year it got pretty big we had 5 former TTC competitors there so it kind of turned into a big deal. I go there just for fun some of the guys there had more money into their suspensions than I did in my whole rig! Bunch of really nice built rigs and some close to stockers. Really just a good time and a good way to support another club.
Anyway heres some pics
First me on the RTI ramp don't remember my score and I believe its only a 20* ramp but not too bad for stock leaf springs (56s up front and 63s out back)
They had a tow test. Wish I had pic of the sled. Really ingenuis contraption that utilizes an airbag to keep the solid steel bottem off the ground at the start but quickly deflates to put 8000 lbs on the ground. Had to pull it 150 ft. I full pulled double low and floor it didn't place too bad for a small block, beat a couple big blocks.
Then theres the rocks. They set up the rocks with cones and the such this year (before it had just been out of bounds and fastest time wins) I was towards the front so most the rocks were still in the same place, once again didn't win but finished respectable. Lots of folks thought that I placed way higher cause my run was really clean. Tons of fun. This pic doesn't show too many rocks I but there were plenty.
Anyway if you are in or around Boise area bought this time of the year check into coming to watch. Most of the proceeds go to the club who usually donates a bunch to our State 4x4 Association. This year the few who won money donated back to the club to go towards helping a family who had just lost their Dad to a construction accident. Worth cause for sure.
Great event, Great people and a ton of fun
