My gramps bought it new in '83. 6.2/465/208/10b/14bsf. I learned to drive with this truck. Lots of memories in it. He gave it to me when the trans in my Dodge blew up. It's gonna be nice to fix it up and breath some new life into it. This is the truck the 454 is going into-

lol, This isn't a spare vehicle...It's my one and only vehicle. I'm gonna try to do a semi restoration. New interior, get the AC goin etc. I want it to be reliable and comfy to drive. Just how a dd should be.
:wink1:

It's way solid...It was never beat on. No rust anywhere. The interior is in great shape. The seat was re-covered within the past 4 or 5 years. It could use a dash cover, new flooring, and a detail job- then it would be like new. I'll go grab an interior pick right now. :)

1. What are you going to do about the trans in your Ram?

2. Why are you going to put a 454 in it over the 6.2?

I don't know about most people but I wouldn't want to tow a fullsize trail toy with a 6.2.

Ram is in the shop getting a stock rebuilt tranny. I'm gonna pull the #6 plate and put the stock one back in, then sell the thing. I'm tired of dealing with my ex concerning that truck...the title is still in her name, and I;ve been making payments to her. It'll be a big monkey off my back.

Why am I replacing the 6.2? Are you kidding me? The thing is soooo slooooow I can't keep up with traffic. Forget towing anything with it. From the factory it's rated at 145hp and 255lb-ft torque. The only thing it has going for it is fuel economy. I'm not concerned about fuel economy, I'd rather beable to keep up with traffic. :)

good clean truck there, dont ever get rid of it, youll regret it

whats wrong with the interior ? jut needs washyed maybe, i wouldnt get too carried awya especially with it being sentimental, try to leave original stuff in it that is where the memories are, if its so sentimental then technically it should be left as is and just cleaned up

you know,

good luck either way :D

I wouldn't want to either, but with the price of fuel I think I'd have to consider it....

Yeah, they definantly won't fling you into the back seat when you pin the throttle, but they get good mileage.

Did you consider spending the money on a turbo kit for it? Regardless, a nice mild 454 with a cam, intake, and a little compression would probably still have more guts anyway, at the cost of mileage.

hey nice ride it must be nice to be rich like me because thet will never pull u over in a pile of rust. well i got to go to aa to night see ya bill ont.

Sweet deal...I'd love to have one of those...but they are rare around here...and none are at the price you got it for!

Horray!!!! It has the infamous SM465!!!

Man I love having a clutch!!

I could prolly stand up on the back without holding on to anything with someone flogging the hell out of the truck. It's rediculous slow.

As for fuel costs/milage, I don't care. Not a priority, un-important. I have never really gave much thought to fuel milage. I'd rather have the power. :wink1:

~edit~ Just talked to a club member, might be trading it for another 454. :)
