I have a new crate motor, wiend intake, and an MSD streetfire ignition kit. the distributor was an O ring style so I figured it would be a snug fit? but it has slop, quite a bit really. I know its more likely my intake causing the issue. But what I'm really wondering is, Is it gonna hurt anything when its all tightened down and running??

Once you tighten the distributor hold down clamp it won't move.

Thats kinda what I figured but it just didnt seem right so I figured I'd get a second opinion:waytogo:

i know years ago i read the instructions on mine i had . it said unless the block is setup for the orings dont use them. the non smooth machined cast section of the block can tear the orings up on install.

thay said the area must be blended with little grinding/sand paper cone polishing to let the orings slide past easy.

and to do this it should be done when block is bear and unassembled.
