this is so simple. its a hitch of a 99-07 gm pickup that I cut down to fit inside the frame. I made plates that bolt onto the back of the shackle flip bolts. welded it all together. I could probably hang the whole truck off of this.
I am going to cut off the extra frame hanging past the shackle flip mount and make a custom flatbed. the 2" receiver will be the furthest point back on the truck.
The plates I made at my dads fab shop. then I fit and tacked it together on the truck and took it all back to his shop for final welding. my 110 Arc welder doesn't have the poop required to really penetrate. I did have some help installing it.
somehow I got my 2 year old son to nap in his pack and play in the back of the garage. Now I can bring him with me when I work on the truck. He is actually helpful. he picks up stuff I drop so that I don't have to crawl under the truck to get them. My wife doesn't like that he has grease under his fingers but I love it.
