paid 8 bills for it. A bit rusty but runs good. 4spd with a 205! I wassurprised to see a 205 3/4 ton. I thought for sure it was going to be a 208. I think it was swapped in. I got him down from 1200. my friend said I paid to much. I don’t know. When I pic it up I will have pics. I think I got a good deal. One thing I would like to change is the shift linkage. I think it was 85 up that had a hydraulic shifting. that is what I am after. I want to wheel this truck. Cant wait! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I'm almost certain that the rust was installed at the factory in those days. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

sounds like a good deal, post the pics here when you get some, what are you gonna do about rust??? i hate rust... /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif

IIRC GM was still using the 205's in 1980 behind both the 3/4 and 1 tons. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Because he just pics anyone to reply to /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Actually to correct the info and I am sure Harry meant the same thing:

All GM 4x4's in 1980 had the 205. Most were slip yoke but some larger trucks like my Crewcab had the fixed yoke.
I believe all the trucks that had a 2 piece driveshaft had the fixed yoke.

yes same body and chjjassis, 81-up changed fornt clip and bumper and some of the firewall and some other minor things

800 for that ? cool /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif its a 205 truck so that makes it worth it right there and plus with 4 speed, thats frwaking DROOL! IMO hope you plan on leaving it 4 gear and 205 cua IMO thats the ultimate setup.

]i gto a one owner 83 K20 with original 5.7 4bbl and 465 and 208 and 3.73 G80 for only 200 bucks, it needed carb rebuild and driver side TRE , and some brake bleeding, in which i all repaired with a carb rebuild and new TRE and another m/c.but the body was 90% clean for central IL, only rust through missing metal is a little on rear arch and some of the driver side rocker missing, in which s DAMN clean for here, i sold it for 500, could have gone for alot more but i needed the $$ bad i miss the truck it was here earlier a friend of mine bought it to haul scrap and cars to peoria shredder with. i shoulda damned kept it and put in a 241 and 14 FF axle to rid of the SF and gov lock

good luck with yours /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
