I just buttoned it all up today. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif The tach itself is out of an '84 Firebird. The smaller gas gauge is out of a Camaro.

And because I just came back from wheeling, /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gifmy truck:

this truck is too clean, it needs a little attention from a sawsall!, and a welder /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

That will happen whenever I can afford a lift and bigger tires. For now, being a poor college student, stock is good enough. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think having the different color pointers would drive me crazy. /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif Looks good though, did everything plug in to existing ports or did you hae to wire the tach in seperately? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I had to wire everything myself. The connections behind the tach for the fuel gauge actually fried the first tach and the laminated circuit behind the gauges because I wasn't paying attention. Needless to say, I now how to take appart my dash blindfolded, I think I had to do it 4 times to finally get everything working. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

nice!!!!
i loved it do that what year camaro would fit? or what other cars?

looks sweet! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I broke one before myself . I was able to pull a pointer sharply straight up and off , do the same to donor gauge to replace mine , would work here if he wanted to. It doesn't look too bad , he can see it right away since its different and stands apart /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I don't know what year camaro, probably mid 80's. It had the rectangular headlights. The tach is out of a firebird though. The tach's in all of the camaros I looked at had the oil pressure gauge inside of the tach, I didn't like that.
Oh, and this one was a complete circle. I had to cut out the hole for the warning lights.

This sounds like a good idea. I might have to try it. For now though, I'm happy just to have it all working. The color doesn't bother me that much.

hhmmm...havin a place to relocate the oil pressure guage (in the tach) doesn't seem too bad...would free up that slot on the left for the *new* fuel guage. Hmmm...i wanna get a tach! Looks good though, color diff. aside, nothing a lil paint brush or maybe tape up the faces and spray paint the needles would clean it up...

That's similar to mine, except that I made the faces for the fuel guage and the tach. The fuel gauge basically looks like the stock smaller ones that came in the tach clusters.

I am going to redo the tach as a 0-6000rpm one someday, because let's face it: This Goodwrench is no race car engine.
