My new to me 89 Jimmy

Well I have been wanting a a Blazer or Jimmy for ever and I finially snagged one, it has surface rust on all the panels but no holes in tub but rear tailgate is trashed and only a little rot in the rear pan near tailgate nothing major though. The P.O. put a eaton in the rear and the Jimmy unmolested. they gay bug deflector will be coming off to. I plan On Parting out my stepside to do the Jimmy, My Cab on the truck leaks water like a strainer, Thats whats Michigans Salted roads do. I already have a set of new doors, found a NOS Taligate, gonna use my old fenders and put Sliders in place of the rockers, use my fronmt and rear Bumpers along with all sespension and Wheels, I cant wait for the funn to begin, But it wont be until Spring.

I have everthing but the gate which im gonna get from you metrodps, Sorry this one is gonna a D/D and weekend warrior. My red truck is the parts truck come Spring. My Cab is way rotted at fire wall and in the cowl, the truck bed has rusted out crossmembers too plus fram has been welded on in a few places, its time to put her down.

I got a chance to check everything out today, her is the good, interior is in good condition, dash is perfect, the jimmy still has the stock radio and speakers, everything but the tail gate works, will have to have someone help me out on that, motor starts and runs but there is a hole in fuel system near tank. the motor is only 5 years old and it was parked for three years. so very low mileage 350 in it. the p.o. had a eaton posi put in the rear before it was parked too.

i say after swapping the axles . we jump the red stepside...airborn in a truck is something to experiance i tells ya.my friend John{you met him Michael} and i jumped a 5 foot hill with his rusted out K5.over and over. you can't break those damn thing. then switched to his 86 f-250.we jumped that thing till the bed was tissue paper.stock trucks are ballsier than ya think.

i spent last sunday afternoon under JR with a hose.i gots a rust free cab from Texas,baby!four years and still no rust.i DD it to work in the winter,but not on snow days.
