Hello everybody this is my first post and just thought id share some pics with yall i recently got this blazer in a trade for a half a$$ bike i was building. check out the pics and tell me what you think. i think the guy before me has the poor girl all screwed up. it looks like a 4" body lift in front with 4" blocks in the back?wtf? anybody ever seen this? she needs alot of tlc. i plan to pull the body and redo the suspension 6" lift 35's or 37's and remount the body correctly. i was thinking of the diy4x shackle flips for the rear and 6" springs up front. let me know what yall think these are all the pics i have right now
huh cant figure out to post the pics? help?

Welcome to CK5...

That doesn't look like 8" of lift to me. If you post up some detail pic's of the body lift and the rear lift blocks we could narrow it down a bit. Lots of lift kits come with rear blocks. They're not the best method to lift in the rear, but they're OK for the short term. I'd probably go through that rig front to back before modifying it further. The upside is that it's full convertable (and smog exempt) the downside is i see some rust repair or sawzall work ahead of you.

How is it mechanically? motor, tranny, T-case, diff's? Brakes and steeing? Most importantly...what are your plans for how you want to use it?

It's got potential! Good starting point!;) Definitely need to ditch the body lift! :eek1: Sounds like you've got a good plan, springs up front and a shackle flip out back=good stuff! What size tires are you ultimately wanting to run?

what i meant about the lift is i think he had just body in the front no suspension, and just suspension in the rear no body?
i plan to use it for mostly just crusin' the streets mayb a little off road but probably not much just want a bad a$$ truck to cruse.
about the rest of it, the motor and tranny seem fine i drove it for like 1hr and a half home when i picked it up. rear end wobbles alot and the steering is loose as hell. the one thing im not sure about is when i got it home and try to put it in the drive way it would'nt even go in reverse without dying? any suggestions. more pics to come shortly of the lift and interior and motor

here are the other pics
also probably a dumb question but the lift kit i am going to get is gonna have 6" springs up front and 2" and a springs for the rear so what size shackle flip will i need thank you in advance

make sure you use the space bar and move the pics one line on top of each other it will keep the page in one view.
also remount the body top of the list i would say there are no body bushings in the front only a lift block.
get a poly body mount kit, i had some of the same issued whit mine they installed half the body lift and left 4 blocks out.
get the 1 inch ord body lift and poly bushing kit that way you get all the right bolts and a little clearance.

thanx for the hints about the picks
also i was wondering how hard it is to do the body mounts?
do u think it would be a good idea to pull the whole body off the frame cause i am going to get a new lift kit and i have the room to do it plus while its off i would like to paint the frame and have the axles rebuilt (since i work at dynatrac) i dont know just kind of brain storming at the moment

what i eventually want is a 6" lift with 35's or maybe 37's

You work at Dynatrac?!?!?!?!?!? Now I understand the username.:D

Welcome to CK5.

73-75 body style= no smog. That title is a bonus no matter what the body looks like:D. It looks to me like 4" suspension with blocks in the rear and a 3" body lift. Remove the body lift and those boggers will look nice, shoot some flat black on it and put the dash back together and wheel that sumbitch:D.

pic's fixed again...

Hit enter after each pic url and we won't all have to side scroll for half an hour.

Agreed on the 4" blocks and 3" BL. Ditch the BL, swap to a shackle flip in the rear.

Hook a brother up im in buena park looking for axle parts and gears..
if you want to remove it or need help hit me up i can assist you just did the burb as stated, have a couple of buddies around here i wheel with always looking for more good peeps.

Those springs you have in the rear look to be stockers. Those can work well with a Shackle flip, and you can do some lift difference with the shackle itself.

I used stocks on my rear and came out to about 5" lifts with a 2" longer shackle. The best part is a stock spring will way out flex a 6" lift spring. And they are already there.

One more thing - your parking brake cable looks to be tight. Any axle movement may cause some problems.

I did a disc brake conversion for cheap. I used parking brake cables for a 75 van to get the length that I needed.
