My new to me tow rig, (pics)

My cherry new tow rig, ya i know its not as cool as Tims new rig but for $900 bucks, it will get the job done. Im starting to think it actually only has 95,000 original miles.
It runs very well and has the tightest 4sp i have ever driven.

Yea, he started at 1400 (which it is probably worth) but after a month of talking him down, HIS WIFE finally gave in.... I was shooting for 800....... He almost did it but i could hear his ol lady screaming at him in the background.

Is that a 79 ??--it looks a lot like my 79 C10...Nice score for the money!--I guess things dont rust as badly in washington state as they do here--you must get no snow,or they dont salt the roads to death like they do here!...It appears to be a one ton truck,seeing it has the marker lights on the tailgate(or did someone just put one on it??)---I wish I could score some nice older trucks around here--there just aint many good rust free ones,tons of rotboxes and bondo buckets,but hardly anything thats decent,especially a 4x4 one...

Nice tow rig. Not everybody needs or wants a bling, expensive new tow rig. It was kinda an accident that I ended up with one, I just got pissed off looking for a good used rig for a reasonable cost and ordered a new one.

That piece of crap has been my tow rig for several years. I got it for free from an old man for putting an engine in his truck. It's an 87 R30, 2wd, SRW, 350/400/14 bolt with 4.10s. It was a little slow towing 9,000 lbs becuase the motor was beyond worn out, but as long as I kept oil in it, it worked fine.

It has nearly no floor pans, and the cab mounts are so shot if you hit a big enough bump going down the road it will pop into neutral.

The TH 400 puked again (when I got it the trans was messed up, too) so it's going to Chevy heaven so I can build a truggy from the engine.

I'll trade ya tow rigs when mine comes in if you want....if we can trade payments as well.

I was just posting up pics of my old tow rig.

I ordered a new 05 Dodge Ram 3500, 6 speed/4wd/CTD to replace that.

Just showing that everybody doesn't need a bling tow rig to drag their offroader around...that old truck worked just fine despite not having any floor boards, and I got it for free.

no its a 75. Its my favorite year. THey dont have shoulder straps for the seatbelts. Just lapbelts. Twice i have been pulled over in my other truck (also a 75)for no seatbelts. Then i show the cop the lapbelts, and he leaves. Makes for a good laugh.
They dont salt the roads around here, its nice, except they spray some kind of de-icer on the roads in the winter that eats wiring and actually freezes at 20 degrees.......
