My "new" topper glass doesn't fit

I bought some solid topper glass from a guy on craigslist. The ad said the glass will fit a 74-91k5 topper. Well I went to install the glass in my topper (1985 with sliding glass) and they didn't fit. The windows were too large!

How could this happen? Was there a year where the size of the openings changed in the topper? Are the shells differently sized for sliding glass?

Well its definitely a blazer, unless the seller was really f-ing with me. He did mention he had a 72 blazer at one point. But I'm sure he said these windows came off an 86 that he is currently turning into a "mud truck".

Well I just went out and removed the rubber and realized that the glass does match the hole. The rubber left a lot extra when I removed it from the glass and test fitted to the topper. I don't know..... NEVERMIND I guess :-)

Yeah I did. Thanks for that. I think the rope method seems to be a much easier method though. I'll try that first. I'll probably attempt it tomorrow when I have can get help.
