my NOS K5...in my basement

its turned into a determined addiction to restore this truck to new condition.

i live on cape cod MA. the front end i drove to detroit MI for it in march $1250, the floor and 1/4s from worcester MA for $700 2 years ago, the doors for $300 in uxbridge MA this week, the seats console $100 foxboro MA ,the skyler soft top $800 3 years ago, the original factory pin stripe tape $300 the stock radio deck, tailgate trim, auto hubs free thanks to ck5 members.

my father bought my truck for my mom new in 88' i was 8yo in the 3rd grade. the only people to touch it has been myself and the dealership he bought it from. weve gone apple picking, boy scout camp outs, prom, all my friends driving test, and numerous other fond memories as ive grown up over the last 20 years. so im determind to rebuild it and get another 20-30 years out of it.

so keep an eye out for that nos tailgate for me!!!

its really hard not to put a 383 and 35" on it but it would be a shame to molest it after all these years.

im a little ashamed to build a mall crawler but the more original parts i find the more im acepting it. and when it snows ill take the wifes yj out!!

nah don't drive the jeep, leave it for her. Just baby the K5 if you do take it offroad.

so how do you find these parts? just keep searching online? are they fairly common in those states? I never see that kind of stuff here.

all ebay for the sheet metal. when i started bolting the panels together i got a bump in my pants at how easy it was, everything lined up!!

i live on a sand bar out in the atlantic so every thing rusts 12 months a year. so im really surprised ive found as many parts as i have but that may be due to everything rotting out in new england.

the sheet metal has been easier to find then the maroon interior parts. i took the top of 5 years ago so i need a new back seat and interior 1/4 panels.

left in the sun too long? I have the maroon interior in my '90 too. The seats and side panels are good, but the carpet is a bit faded and worn out, same as the front carpet. But I don't know where you'd find an exact matching colour other than NOS. I read the thread on the LMC ones... no good.

I know some one who has a NOS frame.....................

Living my dream through jpdrake :D

yeah I was going to say the two of you could get together and pb have an nos blazer with all the parts you guys have stashed away, lol.

Glad to see someone else that wants things the way they come from the factory.
I looked for those interior 1/4 panels like 18 yrs ago and you could not get them from the dealer even, so they will be hard to every find. I had some made a few months back and I think they came out good.

Those look alot like the stuff I ordered from Classic Ind., the seat covers where made with cheap fabric and did not match the factory fabric. I spent twice what those seat cover cost just to get original fabric. I haven't seen any rear side panel that where veluor ethier, mine where vinyl and carpet.
