Some of my old friends have seen my Blazer and it is motivating them to restore their old Chevy's....this is my friend Mark's 1970 Z-28 I'm trying to motivate him to get working on it...

Engine is the original L-82 with matching block and head numbers. It originally came with the cast iron intake and Quadrajet, but used the Holley 780 (with the 1970 GM part number), the GM aluminum intake, and LT-1 solid lifter cam. So its theoretically a 9.5 or 10:1 LT-1 engine. The distributor is a Mallory Unilite

Badass. I've had a camaro from every generation except the new ones. This is one of my favorites..well sort of. If it was a split bumper, THEN it would be my favorite.

Mark's best friend growing up in the same neighborhood had a 1970 1/2 (nineteen seventy and one half) Camaro Z-28 in hugger orange...with split bumper

If the body mounts are good, I would get it running and drive it just like that. It's beautiful.

love old Camaros...

I dig that car! I ran with a buddy in 1974 that had a 70-1/2 Z... If its a real Z28, it should have the LT-1 not an L-82.
Got any numbers on the block/heads?

It's the original engine...He and his Dad went and bought it new at the local Chevy dealer...he tinkered with the engine over the years but it's the original engine...I hasn't moved in 22 years...he still starts it ever few weeks so the motor runs...it has no pipes past the headers so it is very. very loud.

I will take some good pictures of it when I drive over there...maybe this weekend.

that would be awesome to see a survivor car from 1970....I'll be watching for some pics...thanks for diggin it up!

I can't wait to go see it myself...Mark is actually the one year older brother to my best friend Timothy who died in 1999. Timothy had an identical green Z/28 to Mark's blue...he wrapped it around a telephone pole.

But in that neighborhood at two houses sat three beautiful 1970 Camaros...Blue, Green and Orange

I had 2 79's and LOVED both:waytogo: always wanted to have a 70-73 though.... I hope he works on it enough to get more pics...... or at least a burnout vid:thumb:

Always wanted that body style. I pretty much like all the camaro's of old.

'69 was much nicer looking IMO...probably THE best body style, and it was a one year only affair...the 67-68's were the next best style...but I wouldn't mind owning any of the older Camaros...there are way too many at car shows though, the "rarer" ones are more desireable in a way..

I recently saw a one owner 1978 Camaro on craigslist, had 76,000 original miles, and a 250 six with a three speed manual (floor shift)...had just a small patch of rot behind the rear tires on the quarters about the size of a cell phone...someone took it in trade on another car from the original owner in CT,and they were asking $1695 or B/O for it...I bet it sold fast...I know most guys would go "ewwww,a straight SIX?--RIP that out and put a 350 in it"...but those engines were not so bad, better on fuel, and have hop up potential..how many people HAVE one in a Camaro that was "factory"?...I'd put a Clifford intake and a two barrel Holley carb on it and split headers--if I had the cash,I would have been tempted to buy it..

The co-worker said his has a 350 with a 2 barrel and he got 18 MPG coming back from salt lake city with it.

Had a 250 6 in my nova. Couldn't get it out fast enough, and it was one of the good ones. No way I'd look twice at a smog one.

I had a 74 three on the tree 250 nova. It's the only car I should have never sold.
