My plan to scavenge an exhaust system hit a roadblock... What does a new one cost?

I snagged a nice dual exhaust system off a truck I parted out but I don't think it will fit right, I am getting interference around the gas tank and rear spring hanger area.

Can someone post pics not hosted here of their setup?

What is a fair price for a new exhaust system? One shop told me $500 and that seems way too high

For a good system with decent mufflers, $500.00 is actually on the low side. At least in my neck of the woods.

I have $400 in my system. Of course it came in a box of bends and straights and some assembly was required

What about muffler choices?

I plan to run duals and like an unannoying sound that does not drone on the highway and is quiet enough to talk inside yet will sound great when opened up

I'm seeing turbo mufflers and straight through that look like a turbo on the outside and a glasspack on the inside. I'm worried these would be too loud

Dynomax super turbos May be what you want

Assuming you are running a non-high hp setup, did you price single 3"?

If cost alone is the factor, then you should at least look at and inquire about it. You are basically cutting your component costs in half. There are other benefits to the larger single, but it's your truck.

True duals sound better in my opinion but only if there is a cross over pipe (h or x) in them. A single is certainly easier to package under these trucks and a single 3" will flow more than enough for a general 350 build. If you've got a welder it isn't hard to build your own exhaust. Buy some pre bent pipe, a few cut off wheels, and get to measuring and welding.

I ran headers to dual 2.5" inlet flowmaster 70 series. Single 3" out. Absolutely love it. You can have a conversation and no drone. Sounds sweet when ya put it to the coals.

I think we are able to use this setup that I scavenged after all.

2 /4 duals so it should be sufficient for a healthy 383

My crew cab from flanges back was $400
2 into 1 with a hi flow cat and a 40 series flowmaster installed.
