Ok so I have all new poly body mounts from energy suspention. Along with that I have a about a 2" body lift installed. I installed them about a year ago but I kinda screwed up the body lift so I replaced it all a few months ago. When I first installed the poly bushings about a year ago they didn't squeak like crazy until i replaced them and fixed the body lift a few months ago. Now they squeak like mad and the radio can only drown them out so much...

Anyone else who has poly body bushings have an insane squeaking problem?

I put urethane body mounts on my '95 Dodge. I just used the energy suspension lube which is more viscous than grease. They did not squeak at all but were very stiff and caused the body mounts to start cracking.

On topic:

They make sprays/greases that quiet urethane bushings. You're not the only one with this problem.

Slightly off topic:

I think poly body mounts largely contributed to the demise of the body on my truck. Just about every spot weld that held the fenders/car/bed/etc. together popped and everything rattled.

Granted, wheeling the truck a lot played a big part too. IMO, connecting the truck body with a very flexy (K5 era) frame via poly mounts can solve plenty of problems (clutch linkage, etc) but it just starts the clock for the end of the body.

Fair enough assessment I figure. :)

You shouldn't have enough movement at body points for the bushings to squeak. Yes, they are bushings, but theoretically your suspension is supposed to move, not the body, which is our problem.

I've not had them squeak, nor used any sort of lube, but having never installed a body lift, I suspect the lift can only contribute to the problem by increasing leverage.

I just picked up a tube of the special urithane grease for bushings. I will grease the hell out of them and then torque the **** out of them!

That is what you need to do. I have done a few Energy suspention master kits. You have to lube the bushings or they will bind. Seems like they dont give enough lube with the kits or the individual bushings. I always order more.
Torque to Specs. After 5k miles or hard offroad torque again.

I just have to say WOW! you can hear the body mounts squeaking. :eek1:

I always grease the crap out of poly mounts before I install them. But the big tires and wind noise drown out any noise if its there. But torque them, drive them, and torque them again.

at this point they've been torqued to spec...

Squeak was still there...

Then I looked more closely and it turns out that there were 2 separate squeaks. One squeak was definately the 2 rear cab mounts and the second squeak is the front spring bushings.
