here is what the dump truck(as the wife would call it) looks like right now.

This is why she looks like that right now. The pinion bolt let loose causing the pinion gear to grind away at the carrier. Thank you previous owner!

By the end of today there should be a new rear end under it with 3.73 gears and limited slip. and in the not to distant future 4.56 gears should be in.

ohhh guess its time for dana 60/14bolt and cross over and 5:13gears, shackle flip, full cage, hydro assist, 42" iroks 16.5winch each end.. that should pretty much fix that problem.. only plausable solution... lol goodluck, clean k5 i like! How dark those tints?

I am still running a carrier that looks like that ( new bearings by p/o ) , been running it with 4.56 for a bout a year , and ran it with 3.73's for two . Locked too , and I go wheeling

lol that would be the plan...but money is short right now. I am junk yard hunting for a 14 bolt and 60. The tint is 15%. i just can't wait to have her moving again. I had the new to me axles (10 bolt and dana 44) in the yard for 3 months before i started working on it. this is my first time swapping axles out so i am working slow.

Why're you working in sand? And why in the hell did you pull the entire axle out just to rebuild the diff?

I am working in sand because i live in themiddle of the desert and there is no room on the driveway nor in the garage right now. I am not rebuilding the diff I am putting a new axle in.

it's to expensive to have a yard full of grass and water it. hopefuly I sell the 94 camaro i have sitting here and that will open a spot for me in the driveway to work.

I guess its the way its shows up on my new 19" flat screen but it looks like everything in the pic is in focus.

It looks like he has the stands supporting the truck on some good size blocks of wood to spread the weight over the sand and keep it stable. I thought the same thing when I first looked.

hey hows it going hows those axles working out for you hold on to that 44 because you can do crossover steering down the road and just change out the gears and shafts if you want a 8 lug then just find a 14 bolt rear to match at the junkyard. you can find 4.10s pretty easy for a hundred or so locked or not the 60 is rare but known to go through the u pull from time to time.
