I've decided to upgrade the engine in my truck in the near future from the stock 6.2 diesel w/banks turbo to a brand new AMG P400 6.5 TD with marine pump and high pop injectors. Should make about 320hp and 550lbs/ft at the crank. Apparently my mileage wont suffer and should stay the same @ 23mpg. Just kinda hurts to put an engine in that costs 2x what I paid for the truck.

How much is it going to set you back?
I am thinking about doing the same in my Burban, it's a nice clean truck and the only problem in it is the 6.2 TD, it's a 3/4 ton silverado package so I am thinking it will be worth a few thousands for a NEW engine, but how many thousands will that be????

It's about $6500 for the engine. For the marine pump for a 6.2, new injector lines and high pop injectors it's another 2k. You can reuse all of your stock injection components, except the injection lines to save a few bucks. Pricey, but this is a bulletproof engine that addresses all the inherent weaknesses of the 6.2/6.5 engines.

Is that price including the Turbo?
I have seen those engine in the $4500 range, did the price go up or is this because you are in CANADA?

Everything is more expensive up here, new diesel engines are no exception.

That's with no Turbo. This is not however a rebuilt/reman motor. The P400 is the latest re-design by AMG. It has fixed "ALL" the inherent weaknesses of the 6.5 platform. Rated at 250 hp/520 ft/lbs with stock inj pump/turbo. It will be the last 6.5 I ever have to buy.
And yes everything costs more up here.
