This is what i started with a few months ago a bone stock 1974 K-5 that was a plow truck for most of its life, i am only the second owner of it

it spent years as a plow truck for a used car lot but they burned up the forward clutch on the tranny

First thing i found a body that was in a lot better shape and hauled it home about 4 hours the color is horrible but i plan on chaning that soon

WOW i hope they gave that away! I've never seen so much rust

I paid 300 for it because it only had 60,000 orginal miles and the engine runs like a top plus and the chassie was in good shape
 
300's is basicaly free, lol pink, thats great, shoulda kept it pink! till the end anyway and paint it last
 
I put the new body on using polymounts and a ord one inch body lift

The only thing wrong with the frame was a little rot arounf the rear body mount so i made a plate and welded it in

after getting the body on i installed a 4 inch lift and installed a 10 bolt front and 14 bolt ff rear
i put the blocks in the rear only until i can finish making my shakle flip for the rear

I finshed the lift last night and this is how it is sitting now. My plan is over my spring break i am putting in TPI and getting it on the road

man - that is crazy. i've seen few trucks that were worse than mine when purchased! I vote keep the pink for a while too. :)

Holy crap!

With so many of us cutting apart Blazers in much better shape than that, your going the opposite direction.

Makes me happy to see someone resurect a K5 from a pile-o-parts.

Hats off to ya man! I cant wait to se how it turns out.
 
I understand right were your coming from , I did the same thing ( rust :mad::doah::mad:) FOUR YEARS later and I have drove it three times !?!! It just never ends somthing can always be just a little better or a little bigger ,stonger........ and its still really not that nice of a truck. great start !! more pics , ( bomb can ) any color!! but pink!!
