I bought this back in 1985. An 82 GMC K3500 dually. It was due for a paint job and a few other "fixes".

dang that looks awesome, is that a fiberglass or a steel hood? Im lookin for a steel cowl, but that is taller than 2" like the goodmark. Yours looks like its about 4, which is what I want. But yeh man that looks awesome. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

That is a fiberglass, 4" cowl that we made functional. Fit better than some fiberglass hoods, but it did need a bit of work and I had to weld on an extension to one of the hinges (maybe that makes it not such a good fitting hood after all).

Tough looking truck, I used to have one exactly like it with the same Walnut brown paint job, until a 90-year-old man with a 1972 Fleetwood Cadillac slammed into it, and totally destroyed it.

That is super clean. Did you do the black one a while back? How does she run with that blower on there?

Man your truck looks AWESOME!!!!!!

Are those Reunel bumpers front and rear??

Yep,

I did the black dually too, I've got a thing for the 6 tired rigs! I've had that blower on for about 15 years now. Actually, that is the second one, the first one swallowed the carb stud about 3 years ago ... but that's another story by itself. It runs great. I set it up to run on pump gas 15 years ago. I've had to de-tune it over the years to adjust for the lower octane gas, but it still runs good. I'm at the point where I might change the top pully to drop the boost rather than back off the timing anymore. I use to take this thing from San Francisco to Tahoe about 10 times a year during the ski season (I won't do that anymore, time to abuse the Suburban!) and other than 2 blowouts on the front (load range C tires) and destroying 2 rocker arms after do 90 to 100 MPH for about 40 min. straight (stupid ... won't do that again, and not for fear of destroying rocker arms) it never let me down.

They are Reunels front and rear. I took the plastic trim off they wrap around the edges and the light openings and ground everything down smooth. I welded up a few seams and sent them to the powder coater.

You wouldn't have a side by side shot of this one and the black one would ya? /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

very very well done!! I'm diggin it. The pics in the paint booth make it seem a lot more red...which looked pretty wicked too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Ya... I almost thought he had posted the wrong link or something as my dialup sloooowly brought it in. I liked the red allot better... I'd like it on my truck! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Abso-friggin'-lutely awsome. You definitely know how to build a truck bud. /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif

To tell the truth, I'm not that fond of the brown myself. I did a color change once before (eng. compartment, interior, all the jambs, etc.), what a pain. I swore I'd only buy trucks that were originally colors I like! A buddy of mine calls it UPS brown ... nice friends I have /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Thanks for all the good words.
