Since most of you are wondering, the senior project is a project from my High school that is supposed to be something we are passionate about, carreer paths, learning stretches, etc.

Mine, is "The Restoration of a Chevrolet Truck":D:haha: To include bodywork, motor rebuiling, clutch, brakes etc.

Heres where I am now. I started with a 77 3/4 ton longbed frame, used an 82 cab. I have since patched the floors, rockers, and cab corners.

Pictures are better than words, yes the floors look kinda sh*tty, but this trucks future is a mud hole and the floor's going to be rhino lined.

Shortbed that donated the cab.

Wagoneer on 39.5s, brand new, chevy on BALD 38 ssrs.:haha:My favorite part is the jeep has 5k in it, my chevy's body has $400 tops, the motor like 2300:crazy:, Thats not a bad thing though? Right?:D

looking good. pretty nice work too. You have $2300 in your engine? That's not good unless it's TBI or TPI

you can buy a crate carb motor from GM for $1200 (I might be off on my nubers, it's been a while since I looked)

Thats my ballpark for when it's all a sudden done.

I have a 1450 bottom end. (Internally balanced 383 rotating assy)

Then 400 in my heads.:( Then you figure all the little **** here and there. I've already steped the cam down and such. Trying to afford to finish it.:eek1:

That all makes sense then. yeah, 2300 is good. I didn't realize it was a 383.

I forgot to mention that. Figured I'd go more in depth when I got it all back from the machine shop and get to finish it.

I don't have a bed for it as of right now.

I'd rather have a box, but as time carries on we shall see. It's due in 6weeks, so it probaly won't have a bed.

Just a question, why did you go with the longbed frame, and not use the shortbed frame? good looking truck though! keep up the good work!

I was debating that for a long, long, long time.

And to be honest there is a part of me that still is.:doah:But I spent a couple of days looking for a shortbed and longbed of what year (77) and size of mine. I decided that I liked the longbed much more than the shortbed. As well as I've always thought longbeds were sexier:wink1:

Update!

Got my 383 back...:D it's soooo sexy! I love how close everything is!

So far the bottom end is done, got my oil pan to clear. Read "Hit it hard with hammer."

So far I have 2K in the bottom end:eek1:

Heads.
Screw in studs, cut down guides, 24 shims?, 3 angle valve job.

Block.
Bored 30 over, notched, etc.

I talked to my dad today and we order the rest of my stuff.

This is the cam I decided to go with.

I'll get some pictures of everything tomorrow.

You're a senior in high school and you can afford to put $2000 into just the bottom end of your motor! :eek1: Either I wish I had your job, or I wish I had your parents ;)

Nice build by the way. I see you guys finally finished the Wagoneer.

Yeah, only problem with it is the tranny. It doesnt have 200miles on it and wont shift up form 2nd after about 3miles...

Yeah, It's a combination of my job and my parents. They're helping me out alot:bow:

I was, I bought the longbed for it's 3/4 ton axles, the body was shot. (rust)

I decided to put the cab and clip on the blazer one day because I was bored. I really liked the look, but wanted a longer bed. So I began to post ads asking for a 1st gen blazer tub, or cab. My buddy had the shortbed that I ended up buying, and 3 months later here we are.

Got some pictures:

Everything on it. (mostly)

Rocker arms, having a problem. (I think) I'm pretty sure that I'm bottoming out the nut before the rocker arm is getting tight enough.

your lifters look like they're a long way down in the hole--and how come you're not using roller lifters if you have the roller block?

kinda forgot about this.

motor specs:
Eagle 383 intenal assy.
882 heads, 3 way valve job screw in studs.
comp 4x4 .480 cam
Full MSD ignition set.
Demon 725
$5 edebrock valve covers, junkyard special:D
GM perf flywheel
Hedman headers 69230

I got the motor installed, but don't have any pictures on this computer.:doah:found out my shortie headers hit the motor mount bolt, So I ordered a set of 69230 hope they fit...

Also put the clip on and did a spur of the moment paint job. I love the classic 2 tone, but I did my own twist...

Yes the line is crooked:doah:buddy told me it was straight:mad: oh well. Chevrolet engine orange spray can, the silver is rustoleum "aluminum" shot with a gun, the door got NO prep work done to it, as I will be putting different ones on. But I really like how it turned out.
