welli installed my hydro assist, and i had the k5 running and the front jacked up and i was turning the tires lock to lock to bleed it. once it got really easy that way, i sat in the truck and tried to steer it. when i turn the steering wheel, it seems to have slack and jus jerks instead of being smooth like it was before the ram. also, when i turn the wheel either way, the tires want to turn left...i dont get it. does it matter which line goes to which fitting on the ram? here are some pics of my lines, sorry for the poor quality, its dark out now. i have the line from the end cap on the box going to the left fitting on the ram, and the line from the top cap to the right fitting on the ram. any chance i ahve them backwards, or does that not matter?

i think somebody crossed the hoses...

alright, was there any way to tell before putting them on, or is it jus trial and error? well ill switch hoses and hopefully that solves the problem :)

just take one of the clevis bolts out on one side of the ram then turn and see if it goes the right way

Yeah, sounds like hoses crossed to me. But as a side note....can't help noticing that it looks like your U bolts aren't tightened down. Also looks like they're not sitting on very much. Is this just a trick of the picture?

its just the lighting, everything is down tight.

i switched the lines, everything works perfect! tonight was the first time i have driven it in 7months! granted it was only around the neighborhood, its still awesome. im so excited! :)

It looks like a whatever-degree shim between the zero-rate and the spring pack... doesn't that create a stress point on the spring?

hmm i didnt think of that. yea its a 5* shim. i wish i had a 5* tapered zero-rate instead. this summer i will be swapping to 52s upfront, so the zero-rates/shim combo will be going away. i appreciate the concern, its wat makes this site rock :saweet:

For my rear axle I've just made a 1 1/2" zero rate then milled a 6* slope on it. I ended up with the right ride height and proper pinion angle. I only went that route because I couldn't source a degree shim over here but it worked out pretty cool!:D
