My T/R wheels are junk.I constantly have to replace broken bolts, and no it's not because I over tighten them.I ride and have rode with others running them, but they never seem to have that problem.Could it be because mine are 16'5's.On my first trip running them the weld on the inner ring broke loose and I had to send it back to get it fixed. To their credit they fixed it for free, but the ring had so many booger welds on it I had to file some down to get the nuts to lay flat. The bolts are a 1-1/4X5/16 and are not available at most hardware stores so I had to go to Fastenal and buy a 5 pound bag to carry with me.They are by far the worst parts I have bought.

Anybody else had this problem???

I was wanting to eventually get those

I hope the 15" arent so bad

Are you talking about the Beadlocks?
dude... You should have bought DIY4X Beadlocks and had your local machine shop weld'em up for you!
Reasoning; they are extreme high quality. DIY4X is a member here(Kurt) and his customer service is second to none, plus he is just a good guy, plus he can customize them, he can do almost anything you would want.

It may be that you aren't getting them tight enough. Use quality Grade 8 bolts, lube the threads and torque to 22-25ft/lbs.

Are you sure about lubing the threads? Most things that need a critical torque should be tightened dry.

Depends on the part/ material specs. Some things are spec'd wet... You can always add a percentage to the torque rating(i forget what it is for doing it wet...)

I know on my bike dry threads dont torque worth a damn... tightening steel into aluminum just doesnt seem to work...

My buddies 17X9s do the same thing. We replaced the nuts with nylon lock nuts as they broke and that has seemed to help so far.

Well, I ain't gotten my axles installed yet, but I'll keep my eye on the bolts.................:wink1:

I saved a copy of the instructions that came with them but cant find them right now.If I remember right they said to use grade 5 bolts and not grade 8.I could be wrong and that could be the problem, but grade 5 was what came with them.
