alright so todays goal...pull cab off k20 frame, set on k5 frame to give me a better look at what it would look like as a "trazer" if time put on front clip as well.

ACCOMPLISHED:D

i borrowed the winch and mount from ym dads side of the shop and this was ALOT easier

heres some pics a couple of the stages and then the end result...im happy with the height, i would actually like it to be a little bit bigger, but im thinkin that with new tires it will be alot bigger.

the lift consists of a 3 1/2 in rancho lift, blocks rear springs front, homemade shackle flip in the rear, and like 6-7inch shackles in the front...

im probally gonna switch out the blocks and springs for 6" lift springs all the way around.

anywas on to the pics!

just hanign out.

Great work, is that Cab going to hold together or are you going to redo it.

nah that cab is getting crushed prolly this weekend, theres quite a few rust free cabs in the local yards. THen the only problem is when its all a sudden done i have to get a salvage title.:( ah well as long as i can drive it to school.:D

thanks guys! the more i think bout it the more im liking the trazer, but im going to put my lift springs on it to make it bigger...then put the rancho lift .on my DD

Looks good, you gonna go with the pre 81 front end? i also think you should make a regular bed work, a stepside would be nice like this

Another Trazer joins our ranks! Looks good so far. Keep up the good work. I think you gotta put a set of those tires in the background on your truck lol.

Can you get some pics of the rear crossmember for the rear of the cab? I'm about to change my build plans to trazer. Thanks man

what year frame are you working with? With the 70s style, you dont need to make a crossmember, you can use the stock one. With an 80s style frame you will need to make a crossmember

sure...ill get pictures up tommorow...i honestly have NO clue what year frame this is...and the more i think about it i NEED to space out the axles...(plans to make it street legal:eek1: ) im thinking zero rates front and rear...

yeah im pretty sure im going with pre 80 clip...ive always loved that style, i already have an 80s blazer, and well...i already have it:D :haha:

im just goin to buy new fenders adn be done with the front clip. i need a hood too...

hmmm 42s? how bout 44 hawgs:D

and for the bed...for now i just want to get my cab, build the motor and get it to move under its own power. THEN ill worry about the bed style...but im leaning towards a flatbed.

if you buy new lift springs for the rear, buy 56 inch springs. it will fix your shackle angle. Or if you want to stretch the drivetrain you can move the front hanger back, which will also fix your rear shackle angle.

why go to the effort of putting the cab and clip on there if you are just going to tear it all of and crush it?

My frame is an 81 Blazer. My cab donor was a 74 C20.I took the rear cab mount out of the C20 frame and welded it to the top of the Blazer frame. You can kind of see it it this pic behind the tcase.

Instead of a flatbed you could make a rear cage that you could bolt bed sides to :D

i already have 6"lift springs....

and the cab is just sittin on the frame all i did was pick it up with the winch, and set it on same with the clip.

i did it because it was raining, i had a day off, and i cant decide whrether to go with this, or stick with the k20 frame...i wanted a "real life" picture of what the truck shown would look like nad now i know, and im likin it:D
