So we drove up to Crawfords camp on Wed night and stayed in the bunkhouses ( Completely worth it ) Thursday morning we woke up early and I started playing on the small side of the Rock pile... all of a sudden my front end wasnt pulling anymore... we checked it out and this is what we found...
I come to the conclusion that I must have made my front shaft just a bit too long. Now I am in friggin tellico at Dixie Run on the first day right before we hit the trails with a broken transfer case... So I drove it into Dannys shop there at the campground and started making phone calls. I found one in Murphy out of an 87 for $300 cash... not exactly the best price, but he said he could have it pulled by noon, that was two hours out. So I send everyone out to trail ride and I get to work. At 11:30 I have the transfer case out and head to town, pick up the gold plated one and head back. I have the new one in by 2:30 (the hardest part was the clocking ring removal), cut down my front shaft by 2 inches and am ready to wheel.
Friday morning comes and along with it the rock crawl competition at Crawfords camp.. I am in the 37 and up class and wind up taking third.
It was a pretty neat setup, we ran the small course and then criss crossed the large pile here are some pics of that...
After the competition we decided to go on a trail ride... we wound up on trail 1 with two different jeeps both with fuel problems. One we got running, the other a recently completed Stock Mod buggy had a bad fuel pump and the K5 as the club tow vehicle pulled it back to camp. The beautiful part of that is there were still alot of people there for the competition and Bill the guy in the comp buggy is out club president... Instead of taking the direct route back to Bills RV I decided to pull him around the rock pile in front of everyone just for Shiots and Giggles...
He got it repaired and I got to drive it on the rock pile.... Holy Hell Batman.. a 5.3L in a super light weight jeep is insane!!!
We woke up at the crack of dawn and got to the paystation just as Daylight broke... ran lower and upper two and had a great time... the raffle that night was way too drawn out, but over all it was a great time... When I get some of the video and pictures Ill post them up... I got about 3 feet of air coming off the rock course according to what I heard.

oh yeah.... on Sunday everyone was playing on the rockpile and Bill decided to roll the comp rig just to see where his rolling point was... It was much harder to roll than we realized... this pic is about 2 seconds before it rolled... and that was because he steered out of it.
Then I see a few people starting to ramp their rigs and I decided to see what mine would do with the new suspension setup... the guy running the RTI challenge was a complete knob and just didnt have a clue... I pretty much ran out of ramp and it started tipping over backwards as I rode up the end... I dont even know If they wound up having the contest, but Im pretty sure I would have at least placed.
