I went to open the hood today and the hood release did nothing. Its loose like if the cable broke or came loose. Now its stuck closed any info how to get it open:doah:.

Might sound dumb but mine was like that for years, i just bump it with my palm on the front above the latch and it pops up. try that...lol:D

I took a rubber mallet to it :haha:and nothing. I read on here to remove the fender well might have to try that.

well that just sux, remove the fender......it would need a windshield too when i would be done.....lol

sounds like the cable broke, and if so it's gonna be ugly. You may be able to slightly pry the front of the hood up a bit and get an extention in there with a 1/2" socket. There are two bolts right up front of the latch assembly holding it in place.

Even if you remove the inner fender the hood closes over the core support with no room for fingers or tools from the backside.

yeah mine did this awhile back, only the cable didn't break, just for some reason the latch jammed up.

I ended up mangling my hood, tried the whole prying up in the front bit, but then pryed alittle too much and the metal bend gave way and kinked where i was prying, so by then i was just beyond pissed, grabbed the biggest prybar i had and proceed to LIFT the front of the hood until i could easily get a socket with extension in there and remove those two bolts.

which is now why i have a white hood, on my black/silver burb :doah:
