even had a driveshaft shop balance and and put new joints. still broke them, any ideas why they keep breaking? 1981 k5 4 speed manual 208 case 12 bolt rearend.

Stock height or lifted? When they break, is it the cross or the cap that comes out? Is the yoke on the axle in good shape? The tabs on the edges (if so equiped) still there? Getting any axle wrap? When they break, is it under normal driving conditions?

Little more info would help.

answer these questions, and someone might be able to help you... otherwise its just a guessing game man.

Stock height, the cross, yokes good, i dont know whats axle warp? normal conditions

Wrap-wheel hop-where the axle winds up the front of the spring then unloads over and over.

im rackin my brain.. why would a stock height rig break u-joints under normal driving conditions.. is it stuck in 4 wheel drive with different front and rear gear ratios? im shootin in the dark here..

Are the U-joints the greasable kind and if so did you grease them after they were installed and before use?

Which U-joint is the one that breaks, rear shaft front joint or rear shaft rear joint, front shaft?

There are a lot of ways U-joints will fail. Could be the wrong joint, could be the wrong strap style, could be grossly overtightened crushing the caps...there are a lot of variables other than angle, abuse and axle wrap.
