My Wifes 94 Saturn SL1

First - when turning the car on the engine revs up and then takes a minute or two to settle back to a normal idle.
Then lately while at a stop the idle will fluctuate up and down just a bit. Now the service engine light is coming on but is not constant - after shutting the car off the light does not come back on right away. Any ideas? Is it something as easy as an O2 sensor?

I'd guess it's a good time to "get in the zone" and pick up a Haynes manual - they've got all the codes listed in them - you might just need to d/c the battery for a while and wipe the computer.

I was told to swap out the throttle positiong sensor and some other damned thing. I dunno, its her car I'm gonna let HER fix it!

I hear you there!!! That's my attitude on that (Insert expletive here) Cherokee - I didn't want it, I argued against it, it broke, and now she's driving the Bronco/forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

It was a throttle positioning sensor
