maybe someone can tell me what this is. in my '82 k5 5.7L, i found an open-ended hose hanging behind the brake pedal. same type hose as the larger vaccum lines underhood. it runs back behind the dash insulation, so i can't see if it passes through the firewall. i'll check under the hood better tomorrow when i have sun and no rain, hopefully. is it maybe a drain for a/c condensation? bad location, if so.

It might be for the cruise control, if you have/had cruise control.

My 88' and 86' have a large vacuum hose that runs from cruise control actuator, up under the dash to the control module.

Sounds like cruise to me. Usually goes through the firewall wrapped/taped together with the wires for the cruise control, if you have the electric cruise, and not the transducer on the driver side fender with the speedo cables going into/out of it.

haha i removed my cruise and then had vac leak when brakes hit . i thaut i had a bad booster but was the hose sucking air.

no vac with engine on. i do not have cruise control, to the best of my knowledge, unless they were really inconspicuous on these old trucks. no button for it or anything.

Mine was on the turn signal switch on the tip, just a small button on the end that is hardly noticeable...this is on a '77 btw.

And you can easily yank the cruise lever out and replace it with non cruise.
