Hi guys, this novice needs some help from the experts on here.

I bought a 1983 K5 (which I love!) about 2 months ago, and I've been slowly trying to diagnose and fix small problems as I find them. I'm ready to fix some oil leaks, the first of which is coming from the U-joint at the front end of the rear drive shaft that is slinging oil all over the underside of the truck in that area. I'm pretty sure that is the rear output shaft seal in the transfer case. Does that sound right?

That was the only one I noticed until I parked it in my backyard on concrete about a week ago and came out to find a rather large puddle directly under the steering rod that connects the spindles. The whole bottom of the rod is soaked but the top is dry and I can't tell where it is dripping down from. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

#1. Yes probably the output seal on TC, might as well put a new bushing in there also.
#2. Fluid on your tie-rod, good be power steering pump/hoses. Timing chain cover or tranny lines going to radiator. You need to try and pin point what the fluid is, then it will give you a better idea as to where it's coming from.
