naked dash

Is that what you're trying to do?

there is an access hole for the one bolt that comes from the inside out. The pic i posted you can see the hole right behind the rollcage downbar. A 9/16" deep socket fits nicely through the access hole and onto the bolt.

The other bolts you can get from the outside with the fender removed (or door removed)

It is not that hard to find, but if you cannot see it the hole is farther up than you feel it should be. The first time I removed the upper door hinge I had my dash fully assembled and it was a bit of a contortionist job...

yes i have to remove the door hinge and replace it with this LMC one, tried to put my new doors on and it sags to much .But look what friends do, tell you it well be fine then they close the door on you and you cant open it back up.:eek1:

Hi. Original poster here. Thanks for the pics. but I can't see most because I'm not a member yet. To put it short I have a m1009 that cant be titled and a 91 that is. The m1009 has a better body and motor so I'm transfering all the interior from the 91 over. Including the "area around the VIN #" (refer to "The m1009 cant be titled"). I wasnt sure if the dash support was removable or If I would have to CUT AND PASTE the parts I need.

The M1009 doesn't have the plate on door frame?

In Ohio it is a P.I.A. to get a title made for a vehicle that has no vin. It must be inspected by the State police and pass all safety req. Meaning you are manufacturing a vehicle so they go over it with fine tooth comb. The frame has a secret vin on it know to Law Enforcement and the motor if original has a vin also. Not sure if M1009 has sticker in glove box or not.

Most police look at the rivet's on a vin so NEVER cut them or remove those!

Which is why I want to see how much metal surrounds the vin # on the dash so I can cut it out and reweld it to the m1009 which would become the "91 Blazer" . The dash pad would cover, hopefully, the weld seem. The door Vin would get drilled out and weld the holes. The 91 already has a inspection and tile/registration so I'm not too worried about the frame and engine #'s. I dont think the cops will crawl under there to check. I was intentionally(sp) being covert about my question, now all who read this are now concidered accompleses(sp).
