Name that 14bff

I picked up this 14bff for 25 bones, looks to be 4.10's, but the numbers on the ring gear are sort of confusing. Theyre kinda blurry in the pic but they go like this....3977334 10 41 11 76. Do I divide the 41 and 10 or 41 and 11. I dont know whether the pinion gear teeth is the 10 or 11. 10 Being 4.10 and 11 being 3.73. Also is this an open carrier or gov-bomb?

10 41 = 4.10

you do ring divided by pinion. 4.10 and 4.11 are same basically. just like a 4.09
my d44 front is a

45 11 = 4.09

looks like an open carrier cuz you can see the spider gears. I wouldnt run that thing the way it is though with all that rust.

Any solutions on the rust other than pull the gears?

Get some brake clean, spray the crap out of it, install some sillycone/cover, gear oil and run it.

clean it / reseal it / fill it / run it till it blows. i have seen worse.

and open as you see spider gear teeth. if detroit or traction add device you will not see teeth.

10 = pinion teeth, 41 = ring gear teeth and the 11 = November and 76 = 1976.
