And as usual, "Bob" is not good enough.

Yup, it's a York :woot:

Got the belt length right ON THE FIRST TRY, damn I'm so proud of myself ... spins and blows air when I engage the clutch.

Now I gotta it all plumbed and wired up, but that in my mind, is easier then the fiddly bits of fabbing a bracket. Already got the air tank setup in my tailgate, err, thing...

So I'm a pic whore, so what. I'm having fun building my rig :D

Whats it mounting to on the firewall side? Also your running it off of the power steering pully right?

Mounted it in place of the long-dead air conditioning compressor.

To the rear (as you say, firewall side) I mounted it to a t-shaped chunk of cast iron that the factory air bolted to, which in turn bolts to the exhaust manifold.

The belt to drive it runs over the same path as the original AC, so both crankshaft and power steering. I did have to use a longer belt as the pulley is farther out (i.e. towards the driver's side) than the original AC compressor.

I was thinking thats prob where you had mounted it. I'm running headers and didn't have factory air. I'm just thinking out loud, I've got all my stuff and need to start fabbing a bracket. Thanks for the info. :xmas:

Yeah, be good to triangulate it to something, huh. Hate to hook it to the inner fender ... your headers got AIR plugs or anything on that side? (AIR's on the passenger side, innit... hmm.)

Gotta be SOMETHING there to bolt to... we hope :D

HTH.

I also hope yours goes quicker than mine; well, bracket fab was an afternoon, but I've had the parts for a coupla years and moved twice 'fore I got around to it. The official excuse is that I got divorced, but I also got lazy :D

Donno if you mean me as oddly, I'm in CA. Not into welding, huh?

It's actually much uglier than it looks, not a straight edge or a right angle on the thing :haha: You might see if Kilby has what you need -- their stuff is professional and all. Onboardair.com as I recall.

Maybe you could triangulate it to the water pump or something. :dunno:

Do you drive your rig much? I am in concord to and a paint scheme like that would definitely catch my eye. I thought I had seen most of the blazers around here, but I guess not.

Chuckle, that one, not much since I painted it... been working on the damn thing more than driving it. Though you can't miss the pickup (or the CUCV) either :haha: I'm up by the drive-in and the airport.

I have a client over there (Andys Tee Shirts) and I go to alot of places off Arnold Industrial. You may have seen me around in my light blue blazer. I wanted to do the paint scheme you did, but the wife was against it.
