How is the quality of these? I need to get a new fuel pump, and all the local AC Delco dealers are wholesale only and don't want to deal with me. I won't buy a pump from Vatozone. How is the quality of the Napa OEM parts?

My Napa has gotten me Delco pumps in the past. Even though their (Napa) parts are starting to come from overseas...I still find, for the most part, they are of useable quallity.

ive had good luck with NAPA, both parts and tools in a pinch. not to mention of the major parts stores in the area, my NAPA guy seems to be the most knowledgeable.... and they just hired a really hot chick to work there :D

Got my ac delco off of ebay. More of a pain for warranty if needed, but cheaper than local parts stores. Might think about going with a bigger pump since you are replacing it. Might help with the TBI. It did on mine. I also opened up the regulator as the directions on the IH harvester site. Went with AC Delco # [FONT=&quot]#EP381 50-60gph @ 65-75psi.

The Napa round these parts, which is actually reibes used to stock Airtex brand pumps, Airtex supplies to the military. Airtex quality fell off on their water pumps so reibes ditched the Airtex brand all together . take it for what its worth. Im running a delco replacement, with a dorman sender .

Airtex is what Autozone went to as well, along with some other name, don't remember, they USED to have an AC Delco option, not anymore, bastards.

If i'm not mistaken though, i believe Napa is also doing the same thing with the Airtex.

My carquest guy told me they are doing airtex also and told me they are junk. Told me to get the ac delco off ebay/off line.

ssyork, you should try that place on 2nd Ave. North called OEI, (Original Equipment Inc.). They have all original manufacturers parts so you wouldn't need to go to the Chevy dealer or Ebay.

ok, hijack off

I generally like NAPA stuff but find that if I have the time to search around and order ahead I can get the OEM or better quality stuff from Rock-Auto for cheaper or similar prices. I've found this to be the case with GM, Suzuki, and Toyota parts.

If it's an electrical part, and NAPA, it will surely fail. It may take a year or so, but there's a good chance it won't make it a month. Or it might not even work from the get go. Starters, alternators, window motors, wiper motors, etc, all of it is garbage.

Speaking from experiance, I don't find this true. I use Napa almost excluesivly for my parts and the people vehicles I work on. I have a Napa alternator in my K5 thats been going strong for a few years. A Napa starter in 2 of my Camaros that haven't given me any troubles. And just the other day I bought a starter for my Grand Cherokee there. Most electrical parts like that (alternators, starters, motors) are reman units....just like you would get at any other auto parts chain. I have had great luck with them on my stuff and never had anyone come back complaining about parts I installed for them. On more than one occasion I've had bad parts (not working straight out of the box) come from Autozone or Advance. Plus the discount I get at my local Napa is always a plus, so the price is usually cheaper then the other stores.

I buy electrical parts from Autozone, always the "NEW" never been apart units though and have never had an issue with them, i did,,,along time ago buy a reman'd alternator (was short on cash) and it lasted exactly 13 months (12 month warranty).

Still runnin on a starter i bought from them, bout 6 years now, the alternator is about 4 years now, even the water pumps are working great, just buy "NEW" ;)

I'm speaking from experience too;) At work, for years we used NAPA parts almost exclusively. It the last of those years, there were COUNTLESS failures on electrical parts. I'm sure you would not believe me if I told you how often it happened... it was really bad. For the past couple years we have been using parts mostly from advance and auto zone, the durability of the parts is much better, and cheaper too. So I'm not just speaking for myself on this one, I'm also speaking for an auto repair shop. On a personal level, it's more just luck. The shop installs more parts (obviously) and gets a better idea of the quality.

I have an acct to get wholesale delco pumps. The price difference is astronomical compared to even a wholesale garage price. I can get you a price on monday if you dont mind waiting.

Thanks for the offer. I ended up getting a Delphi unit for pretty cheap. hopefully it will be better than the airtex brand.
