Neck Down (Picture)

Ohhh...got it got it...I thought necked down meant it tappered at the inside just towards the end...

all the short side inners are "non-neckdown", can you post a pic of your long side shaft?

Well, that is interesting. Yeah, i will yank the long side tomorrow or Friday and post a picture...I go side tracked tonight trying to get the fu$*ing piece of crap U-Joint out...After 90 minutes it is in there and I am on here...

My really poor drawing of a "neck down" dana 60 shaft

Holy oversized pic batman! That's just annoying.

Here's a comparison pic for you.
Top one from my '84, bottom one from my '78.

In the last pic, the top is the non-neck down, while the bottom is a neck-down. They were changed around the mid 80's on most D60's.

I knew that pic would come in handy. I just took that when I was stealing the axle shafts from my tow rig and putting them into my wheeler. Figured the stepside would need them more.

Necked down on the bottom...that is not what I have. Thanks for the clarification!
