Need 10 bolt rear SF Bay Area - AGAIN :(

I've got a 6lug 12 bolt from a 2 whl drive ($50 offer/trade), trailing arm/coil type. Torch the perches off, weld on new ones. Think it 3.73 open, needs brakes. I also have a 14bolt 4.10, 1ton, ($120) would also need to have perches moved.

I got a 12 bolt six lug from my 71 K5 that you can have. It's got 3.08s and I have no idea about the brake condition.

I'm in San Luis Obispo, however.

I could use that 14 bolt if you pass on it... maybe you could pick that up and sell it back to me and pick up the 12 bolt for free!!!!

thanks cyclone - i am going to try and get a 14sf 6 lug. I can;t afford rims also....

I will keep you in mind though

You might find it a little easier to pickup an 8 lug 14SF (available as a direct bolt in in the mid 80's for free-$50) and swap in some 6 lug axleshafts... there was a user in MT on here selling the aftermarket axleshafts recently.

would my stock rims fit over those big a$$ drums?

I see the 14 FF for like 150-200 ALL OVER; the 14 sf 6 lug is like 500-800. i haven;t seen the 14 sf 8 lug though...

so you have a great point - thank you for your help!!

I'll dig around for that - search for conversion axle shafts or something??

There is no hub on the SF to fit the rim over... just a small lip that could be machined down if you want to keep it cheap. Modifying a cheap 8 lug SF axle to the 6 lug pattern would be the cheapest way to go. The 8 lug 15" wheels fit the drums just fine, I don't see why your wheels wouldn't fit.

This is the guy with the aftermarket shafts (not sure if he still has them though):

"Tell me you still have the SF14 bolt disc setup, tell me about it, then give me a total to 92646. Any Pics? I want! I want! ... I think. "

this is what you were refering to?

He had the disc brake setup and a set of alloy aftermarket axleshafts that he used to convert an 8 lug axle to 6 lug. I don't know what he still has at this point though.
