looking at making my new burb a pre runner.

I have the rear figured out just need front ideas wither i use extended a arms or do a ford i beam style?

For the Burb weight. Go extended beams. They are tried and true. But the extended arms look cooler when running at speed down a race course.

giant motorsports offers extended i beams but only for rangers. Is there anyone else offering a kit for a chevy to swap it out?

I doubt that there is a direct swap out. Look for f-150 extended. The Ranger stuff would be too small. For what you want to do, all mounts will have to be fabricated. If you can not do them yourself, the cost is high. What year Burb is it? The 95 or the 68?

sorry its a huge pic

For beams talk to just about anyone building desert F150's. Since the hard core stuff is pretty much custom anyways I doubt the vehicle it's going under matters a whole lot. Autofab does big Ford stuff and has dabbled with GM's in the past.

Jep.

A-ams would be cool if you're going full custom anyway.

that thing is sweet and it's the only 67 to 72 I have been able to find for ideas. I'm trying to figure out how to fab up the fenders and wiether or not to chop the body up to make a crew cab instead of a burb.

what about doing the 88 and up extended a arms and lifted spindles?

otherise i'll end up doing stock f150 stuff 2wd beams.

There's an awesome black crew cab with beams on the prerunner thread. He was evetunally going to go TTB Dana 50. Fast and 4x4. :D

I still want one, LMAO

I found a company who has the flared 67 to 72 fenders if I want to go that way, or I can build a 79 with the 88 to 98 front fiberglass kit. Or a Ranger.... choices.

Is a v8 ranger too front heavy to jump?

i agree..v6 would be nice
if you did a v8, i'd move the engine back. i still think its just worth it to go v6 though.

well i only ask as I found a perfectly straight ranger with nice wheels with a 351 for $1000. I also thought of pushing the motor back.

but for the money involved i could get a 1997 style with a fuel injected 4 cyl for the same amount. 5 speed...wrecked bed (perfect for fiberglass)
