So like a big dummy I gave away my cross member for my 700r4 208 combo. Now that I have installed a NV 4500 with a 205 behind it I need that cross member again. So anyone have a clean one that they want to get rid of?

Shown is a single hump as used in single exhaust/Cat. converter application. "W" or double hump can be substituted depending on your exhaust. Can you use either?

Single is actually what I had, got the t case on and as long as it drops on either side of the trans it should work. Found out I need to pull the 205 back off for more grinding on the adapter. Ugh.

I have a "W" or double hump which places transfer case mount in the same spot but crossmember drops down on both sides. $65

Can you send me picture. Your in New England area right? Monday and Tuesday I will be at Dana Farber Clinic in Boston, maybe we could get together if this works.

Will be in Hampton NH tomorrow night, Rochester NH Tues night. PM me your phone number.

Just an FYI: the 'member shown here is off '85 and '86 years only. Even the skidplates are year specific, too. This 'member will still work for the '87 to '91 trucks also.

That's not correct. Per the GM parts book and original trucks I know...
GM Group 4.081, p/n 15549276
applications
85-86 all K1 K2 K3
87-89 V2,V3 (292T, 350M, 454W)
in other words, all 87-89 3/4 and 1 ton 4 wheel drive over 8500 GVW, non California with H5D emissions, which means factory carbureted with stainless tubular headers and stainless dual exhaust.

I'm not catching on what you're trying to say here.

This 1988 unmolested documented V30 with 11429 ORIGINAL MILES, 454 vin code W has a double hump or "W" crossmember. It's unfortunate to find in classified sections individuals not selling parts but filling space with B.S. they pull out of their a _ _.

Well regardless of what you saw on this truck every '85 and '86 I've had, owned, driven, dismantled, etc. had the W-shaped crossmember and not one truck I've dealt with from '87 on up had the same 'member. Must be a phasing-out thing for that '88 crew to get the W-'member. I don't know, I couldn't tell you. GM did some weird stuff thru the years.

My comment stands. Read your post. Everything you suggest is mere speculation and conjecture. Nothing weird happened here, no phase out. You obviously have limited/no exposure/experience with carbureted 87-89 V2 or V3 trucks. I already posted the info directly from the GM parts book. I'll repost it.

Per the GM parts book...

That should indicate every factory carbureted square body made 85 through 1989 had a W doudle hump crossmember, except perhaps California. Any further question, check with Keith Seymore. He was an engineer on these trucks at GM. He's on 67-72, don't know about here on CK5.
