Need a carbed 4.3 engine:

Would anyone happen to know where i can get a new or quality reman or decent used 4.3 with mechanical fuel pump provision? I.e., LB1

i'm still waiting on an answer from them.

i am not ruling out running an electric pump and using a newer 4.3 like an LU3 etc., but i want to exhaust every possibility first.

P.S. i know the carbed version was only available in trucks and vans for like 2 model years 85-86 so i understand these might not be easy to find.

I know guys that had 3 of the 85-87 carbed 4.3's and all 3 of them were junk...GM fixed a lot of things after they went EFI on them,after that they seemed to hold up a lot better..

Unless you live where a lot of old junkyards still exist,you'll be hard pressed to find one period,never mind a good runner...last one I saw in a boneyard around here was about a year ago,in an old G-10 van..and it was already stripped of many external parts..

A friend installed a carbed 4.3 a customer supplied into a 87 C-10,and it only ran for 3 months before it spun a rod bearing...supposedly the engine came from a low mileage wreck too..it ran sweet after it was put in too...
