Then my multi thousand race mile filter before pump setup must not work.
Most peoples pump issues are because the pump has to try to suck the fuel uphill and perhaps through a filter, not just because it has a filter before the pump. Flooded suction is way more important than worrying about a 100 micron filter before the pump.
Tbi setups have the sock in the tank so do most of the later models as well I think. The sock/screen is a pre pump filter.
100 micron pre pump, pump, 10 micron post pump will make everything happy. The pump has to be below the fuel tank for best results but I know several people that don't do that even and get by with it.
