I am looking for someone who has a lot of experience with the 5.9 engine . I have a 2001 cummins in a school bus . The other day it died on the highway. Change fuel filters nothing . Towed back to garage and got some codes .Bus will start with starting fluid and dies after the fluid is used up .Bus won't idle or smoke while starting nothing . Just turns over till the batteries die out . If you know your engines I can fill you in more ! thanks

First make sure the transfer pump is moving fuel. Crack the fuel line at the pump inlet. Cycle the key verify fuel flow to the pump. Retighten.

Crack the injector lines at the cross tube at the head about a turn. Crack #1 for sure plus 3-4 more. Which ever are easiest to get to.

If you crank and get zero fuel spraying. Anywhere. The VP44 has failed. It is very common to fail with no codes. But there are a couple of VP death codes.
