Have a quick question about my 88 K5 i picked up two months ago that I just got back after an accident.

What would cause my right front brake to click when I brake hard as I come to a stop? Normal braking it’s not doing it. Also my tie rod end is now rubbing my rim after spacer was removed.

A little back story. Hit a piece of wood doing 65 and it ripped the front right wheel off. Insurance covered it but Mechanic only replaced the rotor that was damaged along with bearings and dust plate but not the pads.

Really don’t want to go back to them

When I picked it up I heard the clicking noise figured it was the old pads so I changed them, the soft brake line and caliper. still making the noise. Put a wrench on everything else so not sure what else to do.
Also I just adjusted the tabs on the outer brake pad and it’s still doing it. Can the inner pads be adjusted to tighten the fit? Not sure what else it could be.

Any help of what I should change next would be appreciated

I've had pads that were a little short end to end, that would move forward and click on the caliper when I went forward, and back when I reversed. Myself I never fixed it since they worked. Not sure if yours is the same issue or not.

The tie rod rubbing the wheel is either put the spacer back in, or get different wheels.
Unless the accident was bad enough that it bent the steering arm on your Spindle some how.

If the rotor was turned there may be vynal record type grove on it. When I
You brake hard this for yes the pad to move till it can't and snaps back, over and over.
I would use 120-280 grit sanding disk and lightly sand rotor while spinning the rotor.
No way I know of to "fix" the inboard pad. Don't be afraid to really stake the outboard pad tabs
