i adjusted the timing on my suburban. i unhook the timing connector by the brake booster and set it at zero. truck runs fine. i shut it off and plug the connector back in and the truck dies and sputters.... what gives? i unplug the connector again and the truck idles fine... anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Try pulling the ECM fuse after plugging the connector back in, then starting it after replacing the fuse. Takes as much time to clear the ECM as it does to pull and reinstall the fuse. :)

You SHOULD get a code if there is a problem with this, but you never know.

Not likely an issue, but easy to try. Otherwise, the balancer outer ring may have moved, and if it works better retarded or advanced from what appears to be "0", run it wherever is best.
