Need a measurement!!! Automatic Guys...

Alright, so I am putting in a tilt steering column from an 86 Donor blazer. The tilt steering column has the shifter for an automatic tranny which I have already installed. Here is what I need. I need a measurement from the steering shaft where the linkage connects to the tranny with the tranny in first gear. I figure first is the furthest from the steering shaft. I am trying to figure out if the Lokar shifter linkage will work since they are only 20 1/2 inches long... I would do it myself but I am awaiting some parts from LMC for the coulumn so I can rebuild it and then install it... Thank You..
