Need a new 6.2 for an 1987 K5

I'm looking for a new engine for my blazer since it the old one threw a rod out of the oil pan. I've checked a few junkyards and they want around $800, which is more than I paid for the truck. Anyone have any suggestions on where I could pick up another one?

He already did...otherwise he couldn't have posted in this forum. The names no longer turn orange with the paid membership. Look for the words "CK5 Member" under the user name to identify paid members...

$800 sounds steep to me, unless it comes with some sort of decent warranty. I'd consider looking for a 6.2 equipped pick-up or K5 with a bad body or roasted tranny and buy the whole truck cheap. I've found a few 6.2 trucks for well under $500...and usually there are a bunch of other parts you can either use or sell.
