while attempting to install the grill on my 89 suburban last night i found that the pass side headlight surround was broken, so i might as well replace the whole thing. classicparts.com doesn't show one on their website so i'm guessing they don't stock it at all. looks like LMC is my only option so i was wondering if anyone has bought a grille from them and if they look/fit decent. i know some of their rubber products like vent window seals and window tracks are kinda iffy. i bought some radiator bushings from them and they were wrong. i'd hate to buy a whole grille and have it fit poorly or look like ****.

looks like classicindustries.com has what i need also, if anyone has any experience with either, feel free to chime in.

if just a reg old replacement try your local paint/body shop supply house .

and if 4 headlight 89-91 don't forget chevy and gmc take different headlight bezels and wont swap .

yeah i know about the differences between the gmc and chevy ones. i'll try to find something locally, thanks.

I'd try a place like Certa-Fit,Keystone, or another "crash parts" supplier,a local body shop probably knows where to get one --most likely all the catalog sources get the same grilles, body patch panels and other parts from the same supplier, which is most likely china based unfortunately--so you'll pay more for the same thing..

Mutt's LMC grill is fine.. you couldn't tell the dif between it and a NOS GM one... not that that can be said for all LMC products...

Cool. I think I'll just go that route. Everything will be in by next weekend. Thanks guys!

it's actually an item from them I have no prob recommending.. :haha:

Well I ended up buying headlight bezels from LMC and the grille from rock auto. It's all pretty much junk. The grille fits but doesn't have the flat spot to attach the GMC logo in the middle and the black paint in the center scratches with just my fingernails. No way it will ever hold up on the front end of my truck. The bezels don't fit the new grille or my OEM grille and they look like they're painted by a 5yr old. All the OEM parts are 14 3/8" tall, the new grille is too but the LMC bezels are 14 9/16" they don't even fit or line up.

The grille from LMC is 3weeks back ordered so I guess I'll wait til it is in stock and call and have them measure it before buying.

The paint on the bezels I can deal with, as long as I get a grille that fits them.

Moral of the story: if you're gonna buy Chinese junk, buy it all from the same place.

sorry your having issues.. :(

I posted this exact question 2 yr's ago and quite a few told me the repops where decent...

maybe they've changed manny's or something... :dunno:

I had good luck with mine..

Yeah you're looks perfect. I wish it was all that easy for me. I'm going to keep the bezels and just repaint them myself and when the grill is back in stock I'll call and have them measure it like I mentioned before.

yeah, the chrome on mine "seemed" ok.. the paint didn't look very durable tho.. I'm sure the factory finishes where much tougher..

and obviously I painted mine immediately... it has held up pretty perfect tho.. just a couple little rockchips in 2 yr's in my finish over the chrome... but the "fit" was pretty spot on when I installed mine..

they aren't stoopid cheap by any means, if your not satisfied with the total lmc setup, I would definitely b*tch...
